Small cat was allowed to escape last night. She was found but may be injured. Theyre taking her to the vet now. I'm trying to breathe.
Small cat apparently got in a fight while she was out; being held overnight for surgery tomorrow.
If I wind up being arrested for assault on my renters, I hope you'll consider testifying on my behalf.
There is a category of justified assault, right?

Small cat is out of surgery & doing ok. Several lacerations, a couple of drains, many sutures. Wounds fit the timeline, so I wasn't lied to.
They're keeping her again tonight for observation, & she'll probably go home tomorrow. Which means my tenants may survive.

Side and front, I think. I suspect it attacked and then clawed her as she ran past.
Just got another call from the vet. Small cat's labs had gotten lost last night, and they just now came in. She's in early kidney failure.
This is apparently the cause of the weight loss issues from earlier this year. They're keeping her until Friday.
I am way less happy about leaving her with the tenants than you might think.
The vet will walk the tenants through the new regime - drugs, new food, possible subcutaneous fluids. But... am thinking about heading back.

Un-freaking-believable: Small cat is FINE. As in, they rechecked her renal panel, and it's within normal limits.
