Saturday morning. 6.20 am. Heading home. \(And really hoping to remember which home to head to\.\)
Aaargh left my laptop power cord in the hotel. Happily I have an extra at home for exactly this reason, but aaargh nonetheless.
And I said to myself, as I packed up the laptop, “don’t forget your power cord!”
The moral of the story is that I am slavishly attached to my routines precisely because I am too dumb to function without them.
