Just about two years ago, I gave a talk at the University of Richmond that I thought might turn out to be the first chunk of a new book project: http://www.plannedobsolescence.net/generous-thinking-the-university-and-the-public-good/ #generousthinking

My argument -- and my sense of what that public good is and how best to serve it -- is of course only one perspective, an inevitably partial one. So I'm hoping to put it in dialogue with yours. #generousthinking

All of us who care about the future of higher education -- faculty, students, administrators, alumni, parents, policymakers, and more -- need to think together about how to create and support institutions that might best serve the public good. #generousthinking
