Headed back into the office tomorrow, briefly at least, for a couple of meetings. It has been a most delightful break. Aside from a quick trip south to see some family, DAYS ON END in which I didn’t dress remotely like a grownup.

I’m extremely interested in this conversation. I’ve wondered recently how a network like @humcommons might provide a space for such alternatives — but even more importantly, how we can get scholars to commit to participating in it.

That’s absolutely right. There’s also the danger that often crops up when a face-to-face conference is in your own town: local requirements can often make it hard to keep the occasion a priority.
