How amazing to be able to look forward to the next four years of hearing from the president rather than flinching every time I hear is voice.
Y’all know I’m all about generosity, about reaching out to those who disagree, about listening and trying to understand. I have also stressed, though, that NO ONE is or should be required to listen to or empathize with those who want to do them harm.

That harm need not be physical or existential. It can simply be another form of silencing. Requiring that we extend our generosity to those who want to use it against us by forcing concessions where they offer none is harm.
